Dear Love Bus Supporter,

My name is Jackie Walker, and I’m honored to be writing this letter to you as the new Executive Director of Lucy’s Love Bus. I have been working behind the scenes here for over nine years, and this past June, after years of teaching, mentoring, and inspiring me (and others) while building a robust and resilient organization, Beecher Grogan passed me the wheel and said it was my turn to drive Love Bus into the future. To be trusted to lead such an impactful and dynamic organization is the gift of a lifetime; thank you, for being a part of our journey!

Even in the face of all the unknowns that came in 2022, our community’s dedication to Love Bus has never faltered. Because of your dedication, we have been able to say “YES!” to each family who turned to Love Bus for support, while also creating two brand new programs in direct response to long unmet needs in the childhood cancer community. 

Our Sajni’s Siblings program embraces the siblings of children with cancer, allowing them to participate in integrative therapies of their choosing, with or without their sick sibling, giving them a chance to be the center of attention. 

Our Ilene’s Caregivers program completes our circle of care by providing massage therapy, support groups, advocacy, and retreat weekends to the parents and caregivers of children with cancer, allowing them opportunities to focus on their own mental health and self-care. Lucy’s Love Bus is now the only nonprofit in the nation that provides free integrative therapies to the entire family of a child with cancer, regardless of the child’s phase of treatment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I look forward to growing our Love Bus community, and spreading our unique brand of Love Bus LOVE! During this magical time of year, I want to thank you for making magic happen every single day for the beautiful children and families we are blessed to serve. You make Love Bus families feel cherished, remembered, and loved- and there is no greater gift than that.
